go to your local labour relations organization and open a case.

with only me and one other guy in the business (apart from him) he'd probably fold the company and reset up tomorrow :/

You work with one person and he's not paying you?
Just ask him over and over and call a lawyer if he doesn't. There's no other way to go about it.

I love this studio owners lecture called 'fuck you pay me':

Start with politeness and go from there, you want to be careful. but set a line in the sand of your tolerance of days you can go without pay. and try to have him commit to a payment day. diplomatically and professionally.
You have any record that you are working?
start saving evidence for later. just in case. Technically he doesnt own your work without money exchange unless you signed your life away. you can always request him not to use it. in worst case. not sure the on the laws are, where you are located relating to copyright, payment etc.Keep your cool and have him commit to payment time. etc. You know if he passes the deadline, he is full of it. use your communication skills, some psychology based off feeling out your boss. see what he says.
If all fails there is
Vinny Paymekoff and Joey Castratesky
just kiddin.

I had a $400 check bounce from a freelance client. I had already moved the money into savings account, then the check bounced, resulting in a $15 return deposit fee, and it also overdrafted my account for $37.
And i'm supposed to bill client for about $800~ more worth of work this week. *le sigh*
- One of mine is now past due for 1500€, and isn't answering mails.Continuity
- can you charge for those overdraft and bouncing fees?monospaced
- I mean, that's 10% almostmonospaced
- Yep. I'll bake those charges into the next invoice. I'll be reimbursed.d_rek
