Always thought it was one of those things people say they like to feel cool but really never even watched it. Or, didn't like it, but still say they do, like every single person who ever watched Beyond The Black Rainbow, because there's no way anyone "liked" that movie or gained anything by watching it.
- I'm pretty sure 2001 is a film people have watched and really do like. I'm one of them.monospaced
- Yes, my thoughts. Its a great accomplishment, but really not too interesting.fredddddd
- if you don't find it interesting then you are DEFINITELY missing the point of the filmmonospaced

Absolutely adore this movie.

It's not really that challenging compared to a lot of movies

I like movies with dialogue. Wall-e was good though.

2001 is technically the best movie ever made. It was light years ahead of it's time. It may be difficult to sit through, and on the surface it may not appear to have much of a story, but there is a great deal of complex material beneath the surface, most notably are the concept of evolution and the danger man's own evolution being his ultimate downfall. Look closer. Try watching it high.

This movie is so old that the future envisioned in the film happened 12 years ago.
- nah, we just couldn't fund NASA well enough to make it happen on timemonospaced

It's a masterpiece.
The reason the scenes are slow is so that you can properly reflect on what is being said with each scene.
2001 is considered to be one of the greatest films of all time by nearly everyone in the film industry. These people know what they're talking about.
You think it's boring? Well, that says more about you than it does about the film.
- < bingo (especially last line)monospaced
- i love this post.inteliboy
- So I'm boring because nothing happens in the movie?fredddddd
- No fredddd, that's not what he's saying at all.monospaced

Aside from highlighting the bleeding obvious problems with so many movies today this one can really make you think. If you want to dismiss it because of its pace, lack of CGI and space lasers, maybe try it again when your mum stops buying your underpants.
Recently saw it at the Sydney Opera House with the orchestra and it was incredible. Love it. Masterpiece.
- Nice, would love to see it with a live orchestra. That sounds fantastic.dMullins

fredddd is a genius at trolling qbn.

To be clear, I only have problems with lack of dialogue and the long scenes and characters that I don't connect with.
The movie is beautifully made, just boring.
Stop talking about lack of explosions, that's not what I'm talking about.

at any moment I wrote dialogue is for dumb people.
but that's what QBN seems to be nowadays...
mainly tits, bullshit and fredddd.but if you look closely there's still really interesting and nice things going on, fortunately.
things aren't always what they seem.
this movie is fucking genius.
sorry if it doesn't entertain you or if you don't understand.
well, I'm not sorry at all to be honest.maybe you prefer star trek, star wars, star troopers, star whatever.
people like different things for different reasons.
in all these years in QBN, you are certainly the most illuminated person I came across.so I guess you must be right.
I don't know. i like the movie and had a bad day today.
but your arguments sound so immature and like a 20 year old that sometimes I don't have patience.hope you're doing fine.
this movie is really awesome.
have you seen Solaris?
or Das Boot?
or Debbie does Dallas?

The movie has explosions.
Explosions of genius. The movie has dialogues.
You know how women communicate without speaking.I don't blame you if you don't feel connected to HAL.
