I dont think there is necessarily anything wrong that we are eating horses ( if you are ok with eating other meat ), but its the fact that consumers have been misinformed. That is what all the fuss is about

Has anyone tried donkey meat besides calles?

I'd eat it (not the meat with the banned chemicals), but as far as I've seen nobody serves it 'round these parts.

it's not so much that it is horse as it is being sold as beef. It is a basic request to expect what is on the label to be what is in the product.
The food system has been fucked up for profit and greed.
The large retailers that have taken control of the food system are in very poor control of their supply chains.
Plus, Horses are regularly treated with phenylbutazone which is banned from the human food chain and so this is in meat
- <This. There's a bunch of crap they pump into horses they don't pump into cows.Akagiyama

Cows, chickens and pigs were domesticated for food.
Dogs and horses were domesticated for mans work, transport and protection/companions.

The real reason you should be bothered is the horses were unregulated so could contain hormones/chemicals unsafe for humans
The actual reason brits are freaking out: "EWWWW HORSE! BUT THEY'RE SO BEAUTIFUL HOW CAN WE EAT THAT"
Probably one of the healthiest things the british working class has eaten all year to be honest.

I don't have a problem with it. If you buy shit frozen meals you are probably not that arsed about what's in it anyway.
Sausages are worse surely.

Pigs are a lot smarter than dogs,
yet I still can't find some dog bacon at the local supermarket,
plus horse meat is delicious

Its because horses are associated with regal / upperclass and considered a higher class animal in British society.
I don't agree with the above. If its tasty I'll stir fry it.
