Hey I'm looking for an ELK, anyone knows where I can get one for C4D? It doesn't have to be super detailed, I'll take anything at this point.
I found a couple that I liked for $20 but they are for some other software, the only one I found for C4D was like $100 and that's out of my price range at this point.
any tips?

There's some on http://www.turbosquid.com/Search…

I was there but they don't have any for C4D more for maya and other software

just a tip for searching turbo-squid; C4D takes lightwave models and textures fairly well... worth looking into
- oh yeah? great tip man thanks, I thought I can only use C4d files.Miguex
- you wont get any rigging or texture settings, but you'll get the mesh and textures applied with UVs intact if I'm not mistaken... same goes for OBJsJulesvm
- mistaken... same goes for OBJs... check fils>export in C4D.. most of those formats you can importJulesvm
- sweetness thanks dudeMiguex

Show it to us when you're done :) ?
- no problem! but don't expect anything amazing, I'm a noob in c4d :)Miguex

it'll work if it's OBJ too. As long as you get teh textures which can be re-applied. Or purchase in Max/Maya and have someone with the software export an OBJ for you. The texture tags should still work.

i think turbosquid will export new formats, but im not sure if they charge extra for that
- nthkl0
I don't they do charge. They'll convert to any format you require. They're customer support is excellent. Just give them a call.

3ds files open in c4d as well

Here's what I did:
I bought the elk from turbosquid.
I'm playing around with different animation loops for a VJ set.Very simple stuff at the moment, just getting familiarized with C4D, rotating, zooming in, very little skill level of camera movement at the moment, easing and controlling is a bit different than after effects, but the only way to get there is to practice.
:)
Thanks everyone for the tips!

Now I'm in the search for a hatchet :)
hopefully free this time, I really shouldn't spend money on this haha

@loool
Thanks for the offer, I wouldn't want to make you work for free, I was hoping I can find one for free somewhere even w little detail, I don't mind. I need to have all these loops done by friday morning.- well, it's not normally a problem for me to make you one for free...but it is until friday...loool

Very cool!

This is going to be an extremely vague reply, but two of our C4D nerds were discussing something the other day which may be of interest to you. They mentioned that Google Sketchup has a library of items which you can download and then import into Cinema 4D,

do you still need the deer? i have a low poly one thats rigged that could prob work somewhere

"I'm not afraid to say that a big part of what I'm doing on c4d is an accident, but I like it haha"
that's how C4D works...full of plugins and ready-made stuff, so it can be done really easily and of course - coincidence is a big part of it...when I started working in Maya, then I realized how C4D can be simple and intuitive :D Maya doesn't want to do anything for you :D
- I hear you. And it's not like C4D isn't amazingly powerful either. Keep watching GreyscaleGorilla.CyBrainX

just now saw this thread. I guess my rudolph rig might have worked. a bit too low poly for what you need it seems. That said, the mention of 3d warehouse above would be another good start. most of the meshes there tend to come into c4d really funky (from my experience) depending on the complexity. So while free, be prepared to do some mesh cleanup.
miguex, the stuff you've posted thus far are looking pretty dope!
- thanks man! I'm a total noob but having fun! I had to pay for the elk btw I think it was $20 it's all good!Miguex
