Follow up and / or send invoice?

A contact asked me to do a quick graphics job for their website. It was simple so I gave them a price and they accepted. I did a design and sent it asking what they thought. Got a reply that only said "thank you".
It's been a week and hasn't been implemented and haven't heard anything from them.
Is it fine to just send an invoice and move on?

Do you guys have contracts for all jobs? Even if it's under a week turnaround? This was a fairly quick job.

Don't email them. You might make them mad. Then they will never pay you. Wait it out instead.

Stop playing around on QBN and send the invoice.
Next time for even the tiniest jobs 1 off jobs... unless it's your close family member, draw up a short/small contract and attach the invoice to the contract. Have them sign it or no work will be done.I wonder though... are emails binding at all?
