So this site just launched, trying to be the "Hacker News for Designers".
What say you, QBN?

I bookmarked it.

Very different kind of site in that it seems to have thoughtfully written articles by industry leaders, complimented by civilized discourse.
It'll never make it.

You aren't providing enough for me to know what the article is about before clicking. A headline isn't enough, I don't think.

- So like every other site in Chrome, thenpig
- That's not a Chrome problem, that's a fix your type conflict problemmonospaced
- I think that happens if you use a third party font manager on Mac.CyBrainX
- but you can restart the browser, change the font, and get annoyed to make it work temporarily.CyBrainX

Like cannonball said, it doesn't give you enough context to want to click through. The giant Apple icons are a little silly.

You guys aren't up on Hacker News huh?
It's basically the same thing and gets a mega-shit-ton of traffic:
Reddit operates on the same principle:
Both huge, huge sites.....
- animatedgif0
shame it's invite only. Lame in 2013
- i_monk0
Why does their web site look like a mobile site?
- monospaced0
barely clicked on it, but, the backup QBN contingency plan?
- monospaced0
so... anyone got an invite?
;)

according to twitter: ★ If you are interested in an invite to Designer News, head over to @LayerVault and give them a shout. A follow wouldn't hurt either ;)

Is it me or are the 100s are boring advice articles now that just give 1 or 2 bits of vague advice over a really long wordy article?
- detritus0
HN works because it's got a solid backbone of actually really admirable and competent users, submitters and commenters.
Anything design-related either ends up very stuffy or filled with dribbling photoshop kids.

I like it. Mainly because I have an invite and none of you cunts do.

the first time I clicked on the link:
http://rf2.jeffne.com/skispree-r…It felt like a typosquatting site, where I had misspelled something and ended up on a link farm....
not bad stories, but I've already read a number of things tied to those headlines before....
