Your Mac says your version of OS X is up to date meaning you have all available updates for 10.5
You need to find a friend that gives you Mountain Lion copied to an external drive/usb stick/dvd that you can boot from, if that's not possible you need to install Snow Leopard (10.6) first and then install Mountain Lion from the App Store.
App Store app doesn't work on 10.5
- Jesus fucking christ. All this to get a goddamn working browser. I need to get discs from people now?CygnusZero4
- or get it from the interwebs and do the hd/usb/dvd yourself from the disk image and booternexbcn
- Sorry im raging. I want a fucking PC badly. Saving up for a beefy XPS.CygnusZero4

Apple doesn't have shit to do with your Flash plugin they stopped bundling it since 10.6 I believe.
Latest OS X is 10.7
- How do I get 10.7 on my mac? My mac tells me its up to date.CygnusZero4

1. Install Firefox.
2. Install this http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer…
3. Open Firefox. After installing Flash Player you can try disabling the one built-in in Chrome and see if uses the system one.

- Im on 10.5, and my computer tells me its up to date.CygnusZero4

I love how when I click to download that critical update, it tells me "Note: Adobe® Flash® Player requires Mac OS 10.6 or higher.". Orly? Then why does my mac tell me its up to date?
Fuck you apple.

Safari comes with OS X, if you deleted it you deserve this then haha.

@mono, I go into itunes, I click on the store, I go to the app store, search safari, FYI it literally says in there iphone and ipad apps, that it. There is no safari for me to download.
- You said go to the app store, its not there though.CygnusZero4
- I didn't say iTunes, dude!!! I said the APP STORE! Not the iTunes Store. Go to Applications: App Store. FFS!!!!!!monospaced

Chrome does get worse performance-wise on each release on my Mac, it's from 2007 so it's understandable. On older Macs the best browser is Safari, I'm on Mountain Lion and the scrolling performance compared to Chrome is gigantic, you notice it right away.
The latest Firefox versions are also good. I'd say Google engineers must have fancy computers.
- Yeah Im trying to figure out how to get safari.CygnusZero4
- ernexbcn0
Chrome comes with its own Flash Player built in, so if you download the latest Chrome if should come with that, unless you disabled it on Chrome of course, then it will use the system-wide Flash Player you have installed.
- "Google Chrome is up to date."CygnusZero4
- Which version?ernexbcn
- Version 21.0.1180.90CygnusZero4

Just got to the App Store and download Safari, or the entire OS X, and if you can't figure that out, call Apple. You can have a working machine again, trust me.
- If I reinstall OSX, will I lose my files on here?CygnusZero4
- not if you back them up, sighmonospaced
- CygnusZero40
"just install it from your install discs"
My disc drive doesnt work. I mentioned that before.
- It doesnt do that suck-y thing its supposed to do.CygnusZero4
- CygnusZero40
Ok, is there any other browsers that are free that arent named Firefox, Chrome or Safari? There has to be something else.

@Cygnus
I have no idea what kind of stuff you've got going on on your MacBook, but have you tried just creating a new user and trying to reproduce the problems? If you do this and find everything's magically working, you might consider taking a closer look at what you've done to your current user.- https://selfsolve.ap…monospaced
- The machine is 5 years old.CygnusZero4

Am I blind? Where is the download button here? I had to uninstall Safari a while back since it was crashing often.

- Believe me, I had to, it wouldnt run at all anymore.CygnusZero4
- What the fuck did you do to your Mac, dude? Either take it in, or fix it up, but that's not right.monospaced
- I dont want to spend any money on this thing. I want a Dell XPS. Saving up for one.CygnusZero4
- Don't spend money on it. Go to Apple and they'll fix it up for free.monospaced
