Just got to the App Store and download Safari, or the entire OS X, and if you can't figure that out, call Apple. You can have a working machine again, trust me.
- If I reinstall OSX, will I lose my files on here?CygnusZero4
- not if you back them up, sighmonospaced

I just notice now on Macbookpro mid 2009, OSX 10.6.8 Chrome would jam if I browse history/do history search on heavily used keywords. Activity monitor will show Chrome Renderer eats 100% CPU power :sight:

- You should be getting any iOS apps in the Mac App Store, dude. You're doing it wrong.monospaced
- some future advice: don't delete built-in OS software, even if it stops workingmonospaced

Chrome is perfect on Mac and way better than the painfully slow Safari.

Chrome comes with its own Flash Player built in, so if you download the latest Chrome if should come with that, unless you disabled it on Chrome of course, then it will use the system-wide Flash Player you have installed.
- "Google Chrome is up to date."CygnusZero4
- Which version?ernexbcn
- Version 21.0.1180.90CygnusZero4

Chrome does get worse performance-wise on each release on my Mac, it's from 2007 so it's understandable. On older Macs the best browser is Safari, I'm on Mountain Lion and the scrolling performance compared to Chrome is gigantic, you notice it right away.
The latest Firefox versions are also good. I'd say Google engineers must have fancy computers.
- Yeah Im trying to figure out how to get safari.CygnusZero4

@mono, I go into itunes, I click on the store, I go to the app store, search safari, FYI it literally says in there iphone and ipad apps, that it. There is no safari for me to download.
- You said go to the app store, its not there though.CygnusZero4
- I didn't say iTunes, dude!!! I said the APP STORE! Not the iTunes Store. Go to Applications: App Store. FFS!!!!!!monospaced
- FFS!!!!! Are you being obtuse on purpose!??monospaced

@CygnusZero4 paste this into the Chrome address bar:
chrome://plugins/
Is Flash there?

"This computer will no longer receive updates of Google Chrome because it's running Mac OS X 10.5."
So what now? My macbook tells me the OS is up to date, so I guess im just left out in the cold with Chrome. Thats fun.
- upgrade the OS dumbass (sorry, but your'e acting like a child now)monospaced

Safari comes with OS X, if you deleted it you deserve this then haha.
- And how would a casual mac user know this? It was unresponsive. Totally dead.CygnusZero4
- CygnusZero40
I love how when I click to download that critical update, it tells me "Note: Adobe® Flash® Player requires Mac OS 10.6 or higher.". Orly? Then why does my mac tell me its up to date?
Fuck you apple.
- ernexbcn0
1. Install Firefox.
2. Install this http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer…
3. Open Firefox. After installing Flash Player you can try disabling the one built-in in Chrome and see if uses the system one.
- "Note: Adobe® Flash® Player requires Mac OS 10.6 or higher."CygnusZero4
- Im on 10.5, and my computer tells me its up to date.CygnusZero4
- ernexbcn0
- Yep IVe downloaded them many times. I still get a Flash error telling me its out of date.CygnusZero4
- ernexbcn0
Apple doesn't have shit to do with your Flash plugin they stopped bundling it since 10.6 I believe.
Latest OS X is 10.7
- How do I get 10.7 on my mac? My mac tells me its up to date.CygnusZero4
- ernexbcn0
Your Mac says your version of OS X is up to date meaning you have all available updates for 10.5
You need to find a friend that gives you Mountain Lion copied to an external drive/usb stick/dvd that you can boot from, if that's not possible you need to install Snow Leopard (10.6) first and then install Mountain Lion from the App Store.
App Store app doesn't work on 10.5
- Jesus fucking christ. All this to get a goddamn working browser. I need to get discs from people now?CygnusZero4
- or get it from the interwebs and do the hd/usb/dvd yourself from the disk image and booternexbcn
- Sorry im raging. I want a fucking PC badly. Saving up for a beefy XPS.CygnusZero4
- ernexbcn0
Well that happens when you are running an OS from 2007 in the year 2012, get on with the times :)
- CygnusZero40
About the OS thing, yeah I get all that, I guess why maybe I should have some problems running things like Logic, but.... a web browser??? I spent $1500 on this thing. You would think I could use a damn browser on it for many years without any major problems and without having to purchase another OS (lol), but instead I actually cant get ANY browser working right.
- ernexbcn0
There has to be a way to fix your Flash issue though, I'd delete all the versions you have and try again.
Use this uninstaller from Adobe http://fpdownload.macromedia.com…
- Did that, problem still happens, Chrome does not like my version of Flash AT ALL.CygnusZero4
