Looking for the best.
Anyone know of a comprehensive list or a good source for this?
I've done some research but it seems to be hard to tell.
Not sure if I want a more official place where I end up with a Masters (Oregon College of Art and Craft) or just a specialty place (North Bennet Street school in Boston)...
Am open to either - and I am also hoping it's in a place where it is very cheap to live..
So NYC is off the list!

Could also be in any country! Especially the free ones... Sweden - but that might have changed?

This one used to have a good reputation when it was the Kootenay School of the Arts, but now it has been absorbed into a larger college, so I have no idea if it is still any good. On the plus side... Nelson BC is awesome.

They use to do workshops etc at Sam Maloof's in Rancho Cucamonga California. I don't know if you are familiar with Sam Maloof but his work is incredible. He is such an inspiration and worked in such an organic way. He built his house and had an attached wood working shop. He passed away a few years back at the age of (I think) 93.
I don't know if they still offer classes but if they do, it something you should look into. If they don't you should go to his house which is now open for tours, you will be inspired beyond belief. Also, there are a number of documentaries about his woodworking that you must see.

Widely considered to be one of the best in the country, if not the world.
