Let's see. Syrian passenger jet en route to Damascus from Moscow is forced to land in Turkish airspace and found to be carrying Russian made ammunition. Yes, a passenger plane. Russia accuses Turkey of "piracy", while Damascus denies it all. Meanwhile NATO standing by to support Turkey and the White House sends troops to Jordan last night. It's like the whole world is waiting for Nov 2. to get their new syllabus.

Turkey apparently is continuing shelling inside Syrian targets. Last night Syria "officially" apologized for bomb in residential area that killed the five civilians.
@ Beeswax, I understand what you are saying and it makes a bit of sense but I just cannot believe things are so clear cut and planned out and thought all the way through. I see Turkey as a country that is coming up in the world, the economy and status of the country is getting stronger every month. I just can't imagine they are the puppets you think they are.
What about Russia?
- AKP's success in Turkey is based on ideological moves not economy or other reasons that are perceived by foreigners. This ideological move carries some risks such as establishing a new ottoman style leader in the middle east.Beeswax

- east. That's a frantic quest. I'm afraid of prime minister giving populist decisions. Although majority is against any war at the moment.Beeswax

- This is not in the same scale with 9/11 but similar. Bush felt the need to start the war because he was getting slammed by both sides after 9/11Beeswax

Turkey govt says Syria crisis is threat to its security, seeks parliament approval for military operations outside its borders @Reuters

Makes total sense for Assad to attack a NATO country just before almost completely ridding Syria of al Qaeda "rebels" funded by the west
- GeorgesII0
They need to get turkey involved so NATO can come in and be the all saviour,
incredibly that it is the same turkey that is helping the rebel by letting them cross over "border" into syria, then crying when a shell goes boom over that same imaginary line
this time I'm getting popcorn, it's going to be entertaining, I'm starting to understand the west need for war, blood, death and mayhem.HONEYYY, BRING ME MY POTATO CHIPS

About two months ago, Syria shot down a Turkish training jet. On top of that happened today's mortar fire. Although no one really knows who fired the mortar!?
There's a really strong effort to pull Turkey into a war with Syria. Why?
I hope I'm wrong but my theory is, Israel is going insane about finding a reason to attack to Iran. Obama doesn't want to risk anything right before the election but if he gets elected again there's no way he would want to get in a war with Iran. Israel knows this and time is ticking against them. Romney on the other hand is ready to make any retarded move, because that brings him not only more support also the support of Israeli lobby. If Turkey gets involved more in this fight with Syria, Iran is going to retaliate against Turkey. And this will be the excuse for Israel and the US to start an attack against Iran. And this is the only way to encourage Obama to initiate a war since that could get him more votes from both sides. In either case Turkey and Syria is going to be the war zone. Israel, Pro Israeli lobby and Neocons in the US will be the only ones benefitting from this situation.

Most American news sources are not yet covering the events happening right now in Turkey. A mortar bomb fired from Syria landed in a residential district of the southeastern Turkish town of Akcakale on Wednesday afternoon (local time), killing a woman and four children from the same family and wounding at least eight other people. It has been all over Turkish television all day on every channel. UN representatives and NATO have been following the situation closely all day while urging Turkey not to retaliate. Meanwhile the situation in Southern Turkey has been tense all day.
Now, according to a statement by Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's office, sent out about 20 minutes ago, Turkey has fired on strategic targets in Syria which were detected by radar.http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/0…
