I still have a Panasonic dual-laser Laserdisc player, and Criterion copies of Alien, Terminator, Empire of the Sun, Metropolis...*sigh* :(

Wait, not Metropolis...I have the 'Aliens' extended cut. Oh and Dances With Wolves, and...oh god...so many Box Sets...I spent THIS mush back in the mid 90's?? *facepalm*

didn't watch the video, but didn't you have to turn these over like an lp half way through the movie?

I never had one of these but they seemed to be years ahead of anything else at the time.

My best friends brother had one when I was in high school. We were always in awe of the thing whenever we had a chance to watch it. I think it was more the experience of having to handle the discs with gloves and the utmost care more than anything. It also helped that he had (at the time) a stupid-awesome home-theatre setup.

"Please flip your disc at this time to continue your viewing experience."

they were like records, but looked like magic.
