Rumors are flying about the Nikon D600.
Any thoughts? I just ordered a D800, but am debating waiting.
Thinking out loud....

keep it. focus on shooting not gear.

^^
Having said that, the D600 is an interesting development.
Affordable full-frame. I'd argue this is geared towards "just keep shooting" than anything else and stripping back the gadgets in favour of light-capturing wonderfulness.
Excited to see samples

Right. But the D800 is $1000 more (supposedly), which is a lot. 24+ mp is plenty for almost anyone (600 rumors).
Dealers around here are skeptical, though, as they think it would suck most of the buyers of the 800 away (like me) and think it would be stupid if Nikon released something like that so soon.
Hmmmmm

Dropped my magnesium alloy body more than a few times on shoots. Earned a few scratches bu still fully functional. Just had a few lens rings pop off. Depends on what you need to do and how fast it has to happen. If you're generating revenue from this equipement, go as high as you can and just deduct that shit on your taxes. Lowers the income anyways.

I'd much rather have 2 D600's than one D800.... but I like 2 bodies, switching lenses all the time on my gigs risks the dust from hell...

don't know much about nikon and i'm not very keen on the idea of 36 megapixel but not a medium format...
can the transfer speed handle the file size and fast continuos shutter? plastic body?
perhaps i should read more into it...
