Finally got around to watching this. I understand it's an adaptation and they took quite a few liberties toward the end, but I didn't like how frequently it cut from one time period to another. The book is arranged 1-2-3-4-5-6-5-4-3-2-1, which might not work for film, but it made the connections between the characters and times more meaningful. All the jumping back and forth was like watching Lost's flashback scenes just for the a-ha stuff.

I almost bought this on a long flight this last weekend, but decided it wouldn't be done justice on a tiny screen and compressed headphone audio. Question is, should I read it first? I'm a huge sci-fi fan.
- Do yourself a huge favour and read it.eoin
- I think I will. Thanks.monospaced

Just saw this. Amazing movie. I can see this one becoming a classic.

good movie, but didn't really understand the need for all the various timelines, if they weren't going to come together in a fantastic conclusion other than to explain reincarnation...?

Saw it on Saturday and I was a bit frustrated and tired. Probably because i wasnt expecting it to be quite long, and by long i mean the plot was long, too much stories mixed together.
I haven't read the book but a coworker said it was the best book she ever read; and I believe her because the story is very intriguing and has some deep thought about life and karma etc... but I dont agree that everything should be made into movies.I like movies with complex stories --I enjoyed Inception a lot-- but this one was WAY too much. Perhaps seeing it again but then again, i have to think about sitting for 3 hrs and wrap my head around it.
And some scenes were off man... I wont say much but maybe the acting or the stuff that was going around... it just threw me off.
- I think a miniseries would do a better justice, sort of HBO miniseries.k_temp

Now reading the book.
Cannot wait for this to hit the UK

I hear that it is bombing at the box office, is this true? Should I wait for it to come out on Betamax?

The book is seriously deep, massively complicated and highly intelligent. I doubt very much that this will appeal to the masses.

I loved 'No Hotlinking Please', the follow up to 'You've got Mail'.

M83 blowing up commercially. Amazing.

Oh yes, I enjoyed it a lot as well! Hope more people see it.

I want to see that scene where they're "processing" the clones again in slow mo. Looked like some horrific shit going down.

I think its going to be one of those great movies that's a bit above the thought capacity of the masses. Low opening weekend doesn't surprise me.

Saw it last night and enjoyed it thoroughly

Better than this movie could be.

Not doing too well at the box office. $11 million opening for a movie that cost $100 million to produce!

Is there a release date?
