In my recent Experience, the Canon just prints, the Epsons needed constant attention, printing blanks, reloading drivers, re-inserting ink,etc....
EPSON =

Printing
Something
Or
NothingCheck the price per print of the Epson 1430, the ink may run out faster than other printers.
Q: How archival do you need the prints to be?

I can attest to this.
I have an Epson 2880 and when it works, it's great; but, it can be a real bitch sometimes. Drinks ink, too.

Still got an old Epson 1290, honestly one of the best mockup A3 printers EVA

it does eat up ink pretty fast.
other wise i've got it working no problem now. it's only if you print it once a month then you might need to maintain it every time before you print.
i dont know about canon but epson has a lot of detail feature you can play with.

Wilhelm Research does archival tests if you need long-lasting prints... crazy looking website, but some searching may be worth your while....

Had an Epson, it died. Been running a Canon i9900 since (4+yrs) no problems prints great. Consumables are expensive but I seam to get a decent amount from them.
