Alright lads?
So, I am trying to come up with alternate solutions for symbolising the locations of the offices of the company that I work for. There are two obvious solutions which are completely cliched that I want to stay away from. Firstly the clocks on the wall above reception with the different times of the various offices world wide. Secondly the map above reception with the cities marked on it. I would like to do something different and more unusual. Some way to represent worldwide office locations without being so cliched and obvious...
Ive been knocking around some ideas but haven't come up with anything mind blowing thus far anyway!
Does anyone have any inspiration? Signage examples? Wayfinding? Basically I need some inspiration and QBN is a good place to find it...Thanks in advance people.
(please please please don't bother responding if its not contributing in a positive way. If you think im a shithead and you feel the need to tell me just don't. Im sure you are really smart and witty and you have a way with words, which is great, but please stick to being a cunt on someone elses post, thanks.)

Wicked visual man. I had thought of the landmarks thing but the cab idea is a great twist on it. Thanks very much!

Again, great idea man, thanks very much! Maybe my little disclaimer at the beginning actually helped! This is the best response I have ever got on QBN!

BTW your final paragraph should go without saying, unfortunately the block user option is no longer.

light.
the idea of the clocks had me thinking about timezones and the sun always being at least 12 various intensities at any one time.I did a project a while ago that used the idea of a specific time to give form to the identity itself.
http://mynameisrandall.com/IVORY…I think you could take something intrinsic to the company and represent its form in what time of day it is (in accordance with the time of day of the HQ).

The sun/light idea is cool too...this could be combined with a continuous skyline of all the office locations with out location being in the daylight and the other locations in various different levels of light...

Clichéd and obvious can still be done well
