I walk out in the backyard yesterday to find this hanging from the umbrella. WTF!
We tried to smoke em out by burning a bunch of paper in a grill right under them. They didn't budge.
We moved the grill and sprayed the shit out of them with water. They took a beating and finally fell on the ground.
A lot of them flew away some drowned.

I still dont get why they allowed beekeeping legal in a densely populated city.

Yeah a girl from work...her neighbor has bees in their backyard...She's afraid for her dog's safety.
- bees are more important than dogs...georgesIII

- It is true. I'd also be more scared of a thousand dogs hanging from my umbrella.HAYZ1LLLA

Next time use WD-40. They drop instantly.

honey bees? don't kill honey bees. do you live in a cave, man? they're dying off.

woah, that's a lot of bees for one day...
a neighbor must've smoked them out and they moved to yours.
you could call a bee farmer... they will remove them free of charge usually, in return for keeping the bees.

you should've asked for some honey before scaring them away.

bees > humans >dog
why?
If bees don't pollinate flowers anymore, no more food for us and we'll have to eat dogs, try explaining that to your neighbor :)
- I know that g. but bees in a residential area > not a good idea.dbloc

call an apiarist. they come and get it and get the honey.

Not sure why bees swarm this way. But ultimately, they just want to return to their hive.

Albert Einstein once said: “If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live. No more bees, no more pollination ... no more men!”
he didnt really say that but its all over the interwebs that he said that.

bees swarm like that for the creation of the new queen. it only lasts a day or so. then they go to a new hive or old hive or whatever... let nature run it's course peoples!

You do realise bees are harmless unless you threaten their hive or really go out of your way to attack them... right?
Shouldn't be any problem with keeping them in a residential area so don't know why you're complaining about that. They'd only sting people ignorant enough to attack them and to be honest they probably have it coming.
Wasps on the other hand are jerks.
