Office Depot.
Keep the receipt and return the drive at another location.

Tell by phone your wife at home to connect her computer at home to yours in office, and transfer the files?

How far are you from home? It'll probably be quicker to go home and get it, upload your data and head back home than it would be to upload 40GB then download it again when you get home. Unless you work like 2 hours from home or something.
What about spending $50 and getting an Amazon Cloud Drive subscription? 50GB is $50/year, and you might find it handy for other shit down the road as well, or just cancel it before it renews at the end of the year.

It's going to be limited by your home internet connection whatever it is.
Hard drive and walking will be way faster.

but if not then I'd set up a torrent server at work. With that much data you need a system that's going to error check correctly and torrent would be the best way.
- error check and not shit the bed if something goes wrong i meananimatedgif

^^Yeah I was going to suggest to make a torrent as well.
You can .rar it up in little pieces and upload them all from and repack at home.

Or this, but you'll have to leave the work machine on, and remote shut it down from home after the transfer is complete.
