don‘t judge the book by looking at it‘s cover...

Dudes, its awesome. Mevis & Van Deursen are always at the top of their game. All the haters are going to be biting it in 5 to 10 years...

Personally I think it's strong on its own, but it's the right application can be an excellent bit of work.
Writing off a logo before seeing its application is just plain thick.

Wish I had the talent to sell a logo that looks like this.

Its an extremely bold direction and I do agree that judging a logo before seeing it applied is not a good idea. Its just that its so ridiculously blunt, simple and has that "off" look, that it will shock the vast majority of designers because its "fucking arial typed in the form of an "S".
Its more of an artistic statement really. Takes huge balls to pull something like this off. Hoping this identity takes off for the reputation of the creator and museam.

I thought the museum was pretty bad, so.... eh. I'll have to check it out again when it's fully operational!

A great application can't make a shit logo work when it stands on its own, which it will have to do a lot. It can only disguise and distract from the shit logo.

I'm tired of this fake minimalism. People like Müller Brockman, Lou Dorfsman or Otl Aicher are turning in their graves.
Don't get me started on this new 'occult type' hype.

hahahahaha, why?
