I keep reading 'anti gay aids on LDN buses'
- Morning_star0
@Fax
True. But idiots also see the adverts and some will believe what it suggests, that somehow being gay is a choice. Protecting freedom of speech is one thing but the sanctioning and promotion of ignorance and untruth should never tolerated.- there wouldn't be much left if you censored everything that might be read as fact by an idiot.Fax_Benson
- But there's a difference between the ramblings of the ignorant and advertising.Morning_star

Idiots should have the right to broadcast the fact that they're idiots on the sides of buses the same as everybody else does. Otherwise they just pull the 'discriminatory leftist, liberal elite' card horseshit.
The ad doesn't even make sense grammatically. It's gibberish.

it baffles me how many people have responded to this thread with some half-assed defence for freedom of speech. You might as well not be posting at all because you're just coming off as being on the side of fascism. I was definitely joking when i said these people should be burned alive, this is the internet and i expect most people to be able to sift through exaggeration to see the motive. Whatever though it isnt important if you understand my motives because ive made them obvious. Sitting on a fence defending freedom of speech is a tired non-argument that's basically just designed so you always come out right and make both sides of the issue feel politically incorrect. Again though, this is a clear cut debate so either take a side or stop chastising those who do with a mask of intellectual superiority.
- defending freedom of speech = fascism? okaaaaaay....hansglib

theres another thing you're all missig that has nothing to do with freedom of speech, its called compassion and its about everyone's right to live their life the way they want and not be challenged by advertisements from the dark ages, ESPECIALLY for gay people who are challenged constantly and deal with a type of oppression that is way more accepted than racism or sexism.
- you probably never experienced the two things you are citing or you wouldn't want to ban themGeorgesII
- racism and sexism will not go away by hiding it and not talking about it, the world doesn't work like thatGeorgesII
- There's a difference between a real discussion and and advertisement, you cant talk back to an adeighteen
- but it makes people talk,
in negative or positive, the goal of an ad is to create a reactionGeorgesII - i think more often than not a gay person looking at this ad would feel isolated and might not even have anyone to talk to about iteighteen

18,
don't use the word intolerant if you have no clue what it means,
who are you to decide what other should be able to see/hear,when are you going to start the book burning?
- eighteen0
there are unpopular opinions, and then there are opinions that are just popular enough to be given the right to put it on a fuckig bus advert, you cant tell me that if i started a similar organisation telling jews to get over the holocaust, blacks to get over slavery, women to get over sexism. But nooo, those are on the wrong side of the public's tooerance level
- your argument are so stupid, I won't even try to explain whyGeorgesII
- tolerance* again sorry for coming off with more anger than sense but this should be a no-brainer IMOeighteen
- I agree with GeorgesII here, the analogy is so fucking OFF that your sound like an idiot, 18.monospaced

18,
listen to the guy , he makes a good point, don't call me a troll because you disagree, you obviously have very little interest in free speech or freedom of expression with the way you approched my response to your narrow minded remark.
- point taken, in very pissed about this though. i believe in freedom of speech, on the internet.eighteen

"It is easy to defend freedom of speech when the message is something many people find at least reasonable. But the defense of freedom of speech is most critical when the message is one most people find repulsive. "

- this is why im advocating the lynch mob system for this caseeighteen

Using the phrase "get over it" is the most offensive thing i can think of, i am so fucking angry right now i dont care anymore lets just round up all these loud-mouthed, ignorant cuntfaces and burn them alive, then rejoice at how much better the world is without them.

DISGUSTING. I'm becoming a radical leftist faster and faster everyday
- hansglib0
Fux sake why pull the ads? So it's ok to say "It's ok to be gay", or" There is no god", but it's not ok to say the opposite?
Let the stupid fuckers have their say - we can make our own minds up, thank you very much.
This is just Fascism. And cheap electioneering. Fuck You BoJo and Fuck You Livingstone.
Bah.

"Get over it!" doesn't sound like something a hetro would say, I'm beginning to doubt if they have been "cured" at all.
