In all seriousness, I don't see Facebook being around in 5 years. I just don't see it, it all reeks of a giant new bubble (1 billion for instragram??).

yeah the 1 billion for instagram looks similar to the.com bubble bursting... but then again, who has not used instagram?
It's the consumerization of post-production.

I just think that with social networks like Facebook, there's an unavoidable life cycle of user interest. Unlike Twitter, facebook doesn't do anything unique. Twitter, imho, has way more shelf-life as it doesn't involve privacy/privacy issues, and almost like FM radio in terms of being an unchallengeable technology.
The inherent flaw with Facebook is bringing in new users. Kids who using social networking now, won't be using Facebook when the time comes because...their parents will be on Facebook. The only way to avoid parental overreach will be to use a different service.

I give FB at least 2 years before it becomes the next Myspace and a new Internet phenomenon takes it over!

It's just a show-off and assuring trust before public offer. A lot of people will fall into this and buy stocks couple of bucks more than they would be.

since everyone seems to be an expert in social media and value of social media companies, I guess you would be rich when your predictions come true.
