I am about to give my fulltime roll the heave-ho and want to set up a good email client on my mac at home.
I currently use outlok on a pc and find it great. Especially for calander etc.
Anything as good for mac?

Been using this for a while and really liking it. Really good for dealing with attachments, of which I get loads from certain clients who've just moved on from smoke signals and carrier pigeons.

Convert your domain's email to Google Apps! (I just use Apple Mail and it works fine). I have this on my freelance domain, and we use it at work. Google Docs is awesome for sharing documents via email. Plus your Calendar, Contacts, everything is available anywhere.

I've just moved everything from google to apple and quite like mail.app across products using iCloud - not keen on iCloud itself though

Do not use mac mail. The guy who thinks its 10,000 times better than Outlook is wrong. Thats one thing Microsoft do well.
Thunderbird is quite good.

Thunderbird+Lightning add-on is a good combo.
That having been said, I eventually moved back to Apple Mail and iCal to be able to easily sync with my iPhone, although if you're running an IMAP mail account on Thunderbird, that won't be an issue.

Just use Outlook
- I bet you have to at PwC lolfadein11
- no, we don'tmonospaced

- My last job used Lotus Notes. For Mac. Ugh.Continuity
- The OP was looking for the Mac equivalent of Outlook. Since it's available for the Mac, that's why I said to use it.monospaced
- sorry - i worked for your main competitor for years and had to use outlook.fadein11
- good for youmonospaced

I had to use Outlook on Mac at my last job. It was a million times better than Entourage but not as good as Mail. I'm sorry but any time you have an alternative to a Microsoft product, you should pretty much take it.
- Except Lotus Notes. It's a piece of shit cake topped by a generous helping of hangover diarrhea.Continuity
- I'd take Outlook over LN any day.Continuity
- fuck LN, still on that shit heremonospaced

- I didn't ask "Is this article old?", I asked whether their are "...updates on Mavericks?"...ideaist

- I know, I was just pointing out that you are using an old article to illustrate your point. I guess you'll have to wait a few weeksmonospaced
