it's normal, it's what happens when you look through your glasses not through the center. light waves are bending. square things always seems to curve with your lense.

I have astir in my left eye so also need presc glasses. When I got new, weaker ones, things looked a little flat. My previous ones were too strong and creating a slight fish-eye effect. You should get a 2nd opinion re prescript - might be too strong, you shouldn't be getting 'effects' like that.
