InDesign is supposed to retain your type formatting when you change your Clipboard Handling preferences to save "All information (index markers, swatches, styles, etc.)
But I'm getting filthy courier instead. Is there something else I'm missing. I'm not really a print guy so I'm a little lost.

I know it sounds dumb, but have you restarted InDesign after making that preference change? And as a print guy, I actually prefer not to have the formatting embedded.
- me too! I find it incredible annoying. I usually copy to text edit (no formatting) then copy and paste back into IndesignGnash

I did try restarting InDesign that didn't help. I checked the preference and it still said All Information.
The reason I wanted the formatting was that it had to be a recreation of type that was set in Photoshop. (I obviously get the important jobs around here.)

I see. I know it preserves formatting from, say, a Word document, but I'm surprised it doesn't do the same from Adobe software.

Oddly enough, you can copy text from PS into Illustrator and keep the formatting.
