so, i got a notification from a major search engine saying that some of my copyrighted artwork had been found on another website and was uncredited back to me - so they removed it under The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (from the other site).
it seems strange that the people behind the internet curtain would just take it down from someone else's site without first notifying me, or even letting me see where it was. i'm just in the dark unless the alleged site offers to counter-
anyone else run into this? and how does a search engine even have that capability?

They delisted it from their search results, but the site is still there and other search engines will still find it. Whoever filed the DMCA complaint should have sent it to the site's host and registrar.

webmaster tools, happened to me as well, - the morrons who have complained, sent them the category archive link of a blog I have, instead of the single permalink to the content, google blocked an entire category w/out consulting me first.. sigh
