I only know of HOW, Comm Arts, and PRINT. Are there any good ones other there worth entering?

I've won a few comps in my life. Don't let the seething qbn hate prevent you from entering a contest if you feel so motivated.
Design, the kind the qbn crowd does, is pretty easy to do. It lacks restraint & rules of architectural and aerospace design... that said, they both have multiple contests a year which are entered by the biggest names in their industries.
- "easy to do" = you're not trying hard enough, chief. *wink*showpony

I also won some contests. Some of architecture, and some graphic design. Including a pair of wayfinding. Some were by invitation. And the greater is the extent, worse has been his management. Not to mention politicians or unscrupulous promoters. Or architects with excessive ego.
I've seen everything. And I've seen in any respect for the work presented. In return, I have taken in charge more than 16 months for political change, or changes in business management.
Fuck you, and pay me.

I'm actually looking to enter some this year. My question is actually if anyone knows any good ones to enter.

Sometimes contests are ideal exercises to keep the creative juices flowing and nothing more. They are a good way to keep from getting rusty and keep shit interesting.

If you live in a decent-sized city, your local AIGA show will be enjoyable. Higher chances of getting work in, and you get to mingle with the crowd on opening night.
As far as others go, things like Under Consideration's BNA Awards seem to offer a lot of visibility. Then there are the more traditional ones, like CA, Print, HOW, Type Directors Club, Addys, ADC, Graphis, The One Show, The Mohawk Show (that one's free!) and the mother-of-all-nearly-impossible... D&AD.
For graphic design, I'd say the better ones to enter in terms of visibility are CA, Print, TDC, Addys, Coupe, and maybe HOW. But, HOW is geared more toward designers in the early stages of their careers. I don't know anyone who reads Graphis anymore, but I could be wrong.
Seriously, though... these days getting published by a reputable industry blog provides more recognition than many of the traditional design competitions.

If you enter something that uses big, interesting photographs, you stand a better chance of winning a D&AD award, because they look good in the awards book. One of their judging panel (a little drunk) told me a few years back.
- Interesting. My work often relies more on typography. Good to know.gramme

Design competitions are a dime a dozen these days, just a great revenue source for all of the magazines and publishing empires that are all on their way to either bankruptcy or some sort of merger.
