Not so sure about gaming but Flash will continue to dominate video until the standards community gets its act together with HTML5 video.

I did not read the whole thing but I kept reading gaming, gaming, gaming. That's the real edge they have right now and it's reasonable they keep pushing in that direction.
- Maybe I'm in a minority, but when did you last play a Flash based game?lukus_W2
- Almost never, I don't get to play much lately, and when I do it's on the 360 or the iPhone.ernexbcn
- Same here - I reckon the biggest growing market for gaming is going to be mobile.lukus_W2
- ... not sure where Flash fits into that.lukus_W2

We're doing a 3D flash game for the GDC in March. Adobe asked us.. we thought it might be cool. It's gonna be on Android. We have 5 weeks. It's a nightmare.

AS3 workers alone and Concurrency in general will keep Flash apps/games years ahead in performance to JS and HTML5.
Eventually, Flash Next will move away from plugin and render to Canvas (most likely using Falcon JS compiler) while still using the same workflow but that's not probably for another 5-10 years when HTML5 catches up to Flash features.

all those people who took those $10,000 "learn-flash and you will always have a gig" courses will probably keep it alive for a while
- I just learned at home, with blood, sweat, tears and paying gigs I had no idea how to complete. The only way to learn.mikotondria3
