Has anyone had any major success or failure using Lemonstand - eCommerce solution?

If you're stateside, selling in English and in $, I think it's supposed to be great.
If you're not, less so.
*shrugs*
That's just, like, my opinion, man.

Lemonstand is great. One of the best solutions out there.

I used it for a friends shop, pretty easy to setup and update. Might need some help from a developer if you are using a custom payment gateway.

i was debating between using Lemonstand or Shopify for a client. All the developer I talked to told me to go with Shopify.

I have used Lemonstand on 3 stores so far and I'm coming away from Magento. It absolutely rocks I recommend it.
Just keep in mind that any developer you ask is going to tell you the solution they're most familiar with is the best. They want your money. Of course they will say that.
Lemonstand is a new player and not all developers are familiar with it yet. That's OK, cuz there is a ton of work in it for me right now!
It kills Shopify in almost every way in my opinion. The only thing Shopify has on it is that Shopify doesnt really NEED customizations to get running. Jane Doe selling purses can some set up a site using a template. LemonStand requires more setup, but is capable of a LOT more than Shopify, plain and simple.

Can you implement multiple language and currencies support in it?
- I asked about language support on their forum a while back, promised an email when they do - none yet.detritus
- ..this was for Japanese though, so maybe that's not relevant..detritus
- Huh... In the case I am doing research for... it's English and Japanese.raf

There's always money in the banana stand.

Shopify also kind of pricey at $30/month PLUS charges on each sale.

I'm feeling a lot of support for Lemonstand here...
Did any of you notice that the digital marketing/seo aspect was up to par?

Used Lemonstand for a project last year, and it went fantastically well. I love the nature of their product offerings (everything essential is included, and anything else is fairly straight forward to tack on). Support is stellar too! Lots of devs getting behind Lemonstand also means it has some longevity.
BTW, I *********HATE********* Shopify, and would never ever ever recommend them to anyone.

Yeah Shopify seems like something for a small shop that I could put up myself... do you know of any other shops that cater to less than 100 products that I can put up on my own... let's say for a T-Shirt company?

Paypal do a neat little cart that's quite basic but offers basic product options and such. If you're confident ernough to make a site/WP blog type affair, it's the sort of thing you could plug in easily enough.
Oftentimes a full eCommerce cart/catalogue/customer database is total overkill for a site - especially where much of taht data is then duplicated on Paypal or whatever payment scheme you use.

How do the CMS aspects stand up? Looking to use it on a large site but not sure whether to use Lemonstand for the whole thing or mix it up with another CMS
- The CMS is awesome. It's pretty simple, but powerful enough for most things, and it's very flexible in that it can handle 90% of situations.rocketrichard
