I have a series of layers with an opacity fade that I'd like to fade in sequence. I can use the pick whip to set them all to one layer but I'd like to add a time differential on each layer. How is that done? Thanks in advance and I hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day.

You can use expression controls, so a slider control would be the best bet. Then add - ValueAtTime(time-.2) from your pick whip and adjust the value to be either forward or behind the current time.

temp = thisComp.layer("Null 1 -Orbit").transform.position.valu...
[temp[0], temp[1]]- Thanks I'll look into this later, I had to settle for making a lot of keyframes. The forums I found seemed incomprehensible.CyBrainX
- It can get VERY confusing, I just finished my first video, but try and aviod keyframesFallowDeer
- As if you need to edit anything later, your just shifting layer upon layerFallowDeer
- Yup. I try to use expressions as often as possible. Thanks.CyBrainX

check this AE file and see if this works for you
controller comp controls the opacity, scale and position properties of the rest of the comps
