If they played "kung -fu fighting" over the PA in MSG would it be racist?
It's a standard that they play in most arenas, should they stop because of PC bullshit?

I had a feeling he was doing his thing. People on FB and Twitter were going nuts

The kid is pretty amazing. Exactly what the Knicks needed, a true PG.

Just hit a game winning 3 with 1 second left. This guy is just nuts.

never liked the knicks and all the global hype surrounding them...just an average franchise from the fancy city...this guy is a good player, but they are still out of the playoff race ffs, they are in negative w/l...one of the worst teams in the nba, and they have a support like they are the lakers or celtics or whatever...
- They are a long way from being out of the playoff race.CygnusZero4
- The NBA is not the NFL, .500 teams get in often. Same in MLB.CygnusZero4
- they have much more publicity than they deserveloool
- Just about every team in the NBA makes the playoffs...utopian

28 points and 14 assists against one of the best teams in the league. There are people that still think this guy is a fluke.

I find it laughable so many just let the word chink fly right over your heads. If ESPN somehow tried use a double meaning of 'nigger' in a headline about Tiger Woods he would sue them for hate speech and slander. Plain and simple they wouldn't do it because its out right racist but an asian guy and the word 'chink' is acceptable? There is no comparison between 'chink' and 'shaolin' in nature and intention, its like comparing 'nigger' and 'jazz' or something.

Is Paki a racist slur? I never understood how that one is inherently racist, same with "Japs".
Seems more like an abbreviation to me. Like "Yanks" or "Canucks" or "Brit" or "Aussie".
- Do people from Pakistan or Japan use those phrases to describe themselves? .. basically the first two have a history of being used as pejorative terms.lukus_W2
- history of being used as pejorative terms.lukus_W2
- yank and canuck also have a history of being used as pejorative terms.ThePublics
- and yanks do not call themselves yanks.ThePublics
- ergot, the term "yank" is racist, although, as with "paki" neither are races.ThePublics
- right there is tonnes of historical connotation with 'jap' and 'paki'... racist contexts not affectionate short namesuuuuuu
- yank is not affectionateThePublics
- i know its derogatory. a real yankee would be offended but a lot of that significance is irrelevant these daysuuuuuu

"(UK, Canada, Australian, offensive, racial slur) A Pakistani, or, more generally and incorrectly used, a person who is perceived to be from South Asian or the Indian Subcontinent origin which is still considered offensive."
I've grown up around enough racists to realize both 'paki' and 'jap' are derogatory racist slurs.
