Quite probably getting a full time job through a headhunter... the job's pretty much been offered to me and I just have to go for a final meeting with my new employer.
Although I have an idea of the salary, I still have to negotiate the very last details.
What's the best time to do that and who with?
Anybody out there that's been through it?Is the headhunter pushing for my side or the client's?
Just want to make sure I play it cool to get the most out of it, and also that I make it sound like I know what I am doing and asking for stuff at the right time.Previously I left salary till the very last minute, making sure I left the best impression of myself and showed how much I'm worth to hit them right at the very end!

only use headhunter, if you cant get in to a certain industry or company on your own.

the headhunter will be working both for the client and then their commission and lastly you. the company will instead option to give you a lower salary because they will have to give your pimp a bonus.

Guess the best strategy is to play it all well, and then tell the headhunter how much you want and for them to get it.
If they are on a percentage of your salary it might work for them to push it up, right?- correct, but the client will say I want to give them only XXX,XXX. let's hope your a badass to negotiate.robotron3k

There is nothing negative about this offer. We tend to come up with a bunch of negative ideas when something good comes up, instead of thinking about the positive options. Think about they pretty much offered you a job, you are in the final meetings, just go ahead and push for what you want. Stop thinking about how much the headhunter will make, or if they are only thinking about themselves because they are. We all are. Just push for what you want and be happy and good luck.

Since the company has budgeted to pay both your salary and the headhunter's fee, I would push to get that % increase after you've been there 1 year. I mean, they had already budgeted for it anyway.
