When aligning text boxes Indesign uses smart / lock guides. Is there a way of doing this on a diagonal?

You can distribute horizontally and vertically to get diagonal, but I'm pretty sure it's not possible what you're asking for (unless I'm not understanding your Q).

what I mean is...
When you drag boxes around you get the magic green lines telling you you're in alignment to something. Is there a way of either making a diagonal guide or magic diagonal green lines?pardon the non-academic language!

from 2002 that, thanks though. I have been designing and rotating - not ideal though.

I know you can set custom angles for smart guides in illustrator. Not sure if it's possible in InDesign though.

adobe will invent the angle in cs10 perhaps
- it does 45 degrees finemonospaced
- with the magic green lines?craigatkinson
- what about the other 315?craigatkinson
- you can always just draw a line at any angle you desire and just align to that if your'e going to expect the program to do EVERYTHING for youmonospaced
- to do EVERYTHING for youmonospaced
- yes, 45 with the "little green line." FFS, you have the program, right!?monospaced

I dont think you can get the green Smart Line moving it diagonally. However, you could draw a thin diagonal line and align it. Use the middle point of each box to align them that way it can look centered.
- just hold shift for 45 with the green line. and yes, drawing the line worksmonospaced
- for real? you get the diagonal line? I know it moves diagonally.k_temp
- no it doesn't draw the line, but who gives a fuck? You know it's 45monospaced
- I GIVE A FUCK!
jk cheersk_temp - yeah, I like green lines FFS, esp diagonals hahacraigatkinson
