Heading to San Diego next week for a few days and looking for suggestions for what to do.
Good eats, music, art, stores other cool shit. Gonna be there from Sat to Wed.
If I am ever near the ocean I always try to jump in it. Is it going to be warm enough to hit the beach at all? If so any beaches to recommend?

Good eats:
Turfclub

(cook your own steak, super cheap, I always bring people out of town there, and they love it, the more people the better, it's a hole in the wall, mostly locals, and its always a good time)Get some mexican food, everyone has their favorites, I'm sure youll get lots of suggestions, avoid chipotle, the shittier the taco place looks, the better the food.
Beach:
you can go, during the day we had a couple of days were it got pretty warm, if you are brave you can get in the water, lots of surfers do it all year long and they are out there at 5am. I'm a wuss.Ocean Beach - good vibes, everyone is homeless or hippie and very hard to tell the difference. The fish tacos at
South Beach Bar & Grill, are out of this planet, get a chair at the bar upstairs so you can see the sunset while you mack down the goodness, get there early cause it gets packed, and it's delicious
http://www.yelp.com/biz/south-be…Pacific Beach, kinda fratty but I like to go north of there, away from all the drunkness, yet not as fancy as LaJolla, get breakfast at Kono's (also by the beach)
http://www.yelp.com/biz/konos-ca…Subtext gallery is nice, and home to (arguably San Diego's most famous designer (fame as in, you an I would know) they throw artshows everynow and then with free beer and foodtruck in the back, but you need to check in advance, then walk to the casbah for some live music.

scrap_paper, you will just be showing up for our SD Drinks. You wanna cruise to a bar with us all? Let me know if you need a ride or something. We will do everything possible to get you there. Bring the little lady, it is an open event. Just tell her not to get mad when we start talking pms colors and fonts and programs.

I was just checking out the San Diego Drinks thread. I'll totally drag her along to hang out with yet another bunch of design nerds!
Whats transit like in SD? Is a cab ride going to be too pricy from Gaslamps to the Blind Lady?
- a cab will probably be around $20 total or so. If you'd like a ride, email me and I'll get you my info.capn_ron
