I created event signage and when I sent out the tons of files, the vendor kept calling me to say they weren't high resolution because the file size for even the large wall (36 feet wide x 18 ft tall) was barely 200K. I couldn't believe I found myself explaining that it was only color and type and that it was infinite resolution, to a print vendor!
- wow... "what is this vector you speak of?! send me a 7GB tiff dammit"prophetone
- Should have sent him a 12000 dpi tiff..slappy

Everyone knows that the bigger the file, the more work went into it and therefore the better quality of the design.
If someone hands me an asset and says "Here's a vector of the logo you wanted" and I see it's only fucking 3kb in size I get fucking mad and throw something at them. How dare they spend all that time working and only produce something that could fit on a floppy disk... Lazy fucks I want BLURAY quality shit!
- Sometimes Orrin, it's best just to not type...orrinward2

its true that TIFF are supra-huge file in size.

gott in himmel - whoever used layered tiffs?
- ali0
Don't you require to save as TIFF though if you want to colour a bitmap image in Indesign?
- animatedgif0
God, saw some advice on here telling someone to use TIFF over PSD to solve a gradient banding problem.
Fucking LOL'd
- Yeah animated GIFs are so much nicer.CygnusZero4
- least they serve a purpose though hahaanimatedgif

Just a note to say that TIFFs are outmoded these days, they slow everything down, especially layered TIFFs. PSDs and JPGs from here on in please!
Thank you, that is all.
