So, I'm in need of a decent shoe rack for my apartment. Could not find a single item that matched what I wanted, so I modeled a basic one in Cinema4D. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get it built. Does anyone have any experience with carpenters in the NYC area? Is it unheard of to provide a basic model to a local guy and have him build something close to it? Would something like that be outlandishly expensive?
I'd love to be DIY about this and not spend more than like $150 but not exactly practical/possible for me.

It's similar to this, but tweaked a bit based on shoe volume and the dimensions of my apartment entrance. Looking to have it pure wood.
