Half way through book 3. Loving it, but it did slow-burn for a little while at the beginning.
@Publics, with you there. It does feel accessible and more filmic than many of his books. Also reminds me of Hard-Boiled Wonderland.
I've read them all and I'm already thinking 1Q84 is his best for a while...

ok book i guess,
but not as great and well written like "50 shades of grey"

Well I enjoyed it.
But even at 1000 pages I felt he kind of rushed the ending. Not his best.

I am about 2/3rds the way through it. I feel as though if I tried to explain this book to a friend I might just be put in a nut house. That being said he's one of my favorite authors and has a knack for making you wonder what the hell the ending is going to be in all of his books.

I would never profess to have a good understanding of Japanese culture, but did anyone else pick up slight American Psycho overtones with the cold, objective descriptions of clothes and body parts, not to mention the general perving of underage girls in this book?
Or do I need to check myself in?
