How do I make smooth rolling titles in Premiere? They end up jiggerish... anyone know a good solution?
Did you try googling it?
"smooth scrolling titles premiere"
I got few hits. Not sure if those will help.
yeah, of course I did, but they're all like from 2004. and nothing helpful...
when you are in premiere with the project open.
hit "enter" a loading bar will come up.
go have a coffee, do your laundry.
come back and try play that shit again.

you answered your own question. Final Cut Pro has been the new premiere for years.
not trying to be a dick. although i know my answer comes off to be as such.
it's probably something about the render, or maybe even as simple as an "allow smoothing" checkbox or such. could also have something to do with anti-aliasing not being set correct??
Are you talking about a vertical or horizontal title roll? If it's vertical the speed of your roll needs to be relative to your frame rate. For example, if you're doing it in the roll needs to move at a multiple of 25 pixels per second. Otherwise your text will have sub-pixel aliasing problems and look like it's jittery. If it's a horizontal roll, it needs to be slow or interlaced.
easy answer is tat your text should move 4 vertical pixels per frame.
A lot of the time, you have to work with a certain amount of time though. If that is the case, use this formula:
If you have an HD frame 1920x1080 23.98 frames per second 4 pixels per frame scroll. So a 2 minute credit roll would be 120 seconds x 24 frames per second = 2880 frames x 4 pixels per frame = 11520 pixels. So your document size would be 1920x11520, and you layout the credits to fit within that document (leave 1080 pixels empty at the top so the credits can roll in/the first frame is black). Below is a link to an Illustrator document that I use as a template to build rolls with, just adjust the document size to fit the length of time required for the roll. The inner-most guides on the document are 4x3 title-safe guides so keep your text within those boundaries if it will go to television as well.
^^ Thank you sir, those formulas did it.
yeah thats why you are getting hits from '04... who uses this? didnt know it still existed
