Dont know if you called the FBI or want to call the FBI, or if they would even do anything about, but they usually have local offices in the bigger cities of where you live. They may be able to give you some information, but probably not.

Sad to hear that CALLES, hope you get everything sorted out.
There's a quite similar thing in Brazil.
Someone will phone your house saying they kidnapped you, then ask whoever answered the phone to make a $XXXX deposit on a Y bank account, otherwise they'd kill you in 2 hours.
After years of police investigations they found out the calls were done from prisoners (from the inside of the prison).
Of course lots of mothers, sisters, wives got desperate when answer the phone and will make the deposit... some just rang the "kidnapped" person and ask if they're ok.Nowadays still happening in a minos scale.
