Get Xampp (free) and run a local version of Wordpress.
- Download your current sites database (export wordpress)
- Install Wordpress Locally
- Import your database
- Install and run your new theme, in your new local dev environment.- sounds like a lot of work :(trooperbill
- it's pretty easy, and the fastest way to develop WP stuff.orrinward
- I just did this on my new machine and the whole thing was less than 25 minutes work.orrinward

I also used MS Web Matrix for local WP development (on a PC). It actually does the job and is not bad at all. Just a bit slow sometimes.

As I answered in the older thread, use the Theme Switch plugin:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plug…No need to run separate versions of the site live or locally. Normal users see the current theme, you see the alternate theme.
