VERY small font size is the key.

Verdana looks fine for paragraphs and captions, but nothing else. That's what it was made for. Setting it any larger than 12 px on screen looks terrible. In print, it doesn't look good at any size.

Call me crazy, but I always thought that Verdana and
Comic Sans where a great one-two punch...- It's like a cheekier, more playful Arial/TNR combo, I hear you.Continuity

Ikea has improved a bit after my recent visit, the kerning seems pretty tight on headings.
Im mostly after examples on websites/newsletters
- kerning seems to be tweekier for verdana than helvetica....vaxorcist

Ikea couldn't manage, and I don't think the rest of us can, either.
