This should do. I had the same problem when switching to CS5. I didn't use this guide but I believe it's the same.

If you create a Web document CS5 now defaults to locking to a pixel grid. snap to point will not work for ya.

you've got Snap to Point turned on - if you're switching to Pixel Preview it'll Snap to Pixel instead.

I'm sure something has got fucked in Illustrator in either the move to CS5 or CS5 running on Lion.
Objects don't seem to snap correctly at all anymore, even when using smart guides.

Read the guide above and you'll find they do. It's because there are maybe 3 places in which pixel grid/snap to pixel is set by default, and you have to change all of them.

It's in the transform palette and fly-out menu.

yah mun, I hate this feature. Open the "Transform" window palette and make sure you have enabled "Show Options" through the dropdown menu in the top-right corner of the palette.
Now you should see the "Align to pixel grid" option. You can click that on/off to have the feature only work for specific shapes. If you want it off period, click the dropdown again and make sure "Align new objects to pixel grid" isn't checked.

I think that "Align new objects to pixel grid" refers to objects you create, not points and shapes that get moved after being created.
