Hello,
Can somebody advise me how to go about clipping/trimming a downloaded video clip please? I'm in FinalCut Express and I seem to have tried everything now but I can't trim off the first 60 seconds or the last 50 seconds to leave the bit in the middle.GRRRRR and such.
Thanks.

in a rush-- but simply:
- double click the video file (that you've imported) to load up the file in the left viewer
- use the mark in out buttons that look like >| and |<
- click and drag that video into your sequence

or drop the file into a sequnce and use the razor blade tool.
amongst many things. ie there are handful of ways to trim a video.

If you double click on the clip it should go into the viewer. Move the playbar to the point you want to start and hit i. That should make an in point. Go to where you want the clip to stop and hit o. That should create an outpoint.
This is all assuming Express isn't that different than Pro, which is what i'm basing this on

Alternatively, you can dismantle the drive the clip is stored on, approximate where that data is stored and take a swiss army knife to the portion you don't want.
- Or kindly ask the viewer to close their eyes and shut their ears until the portion you want has arrivedlocustsloth

Cheers for all the advice. In the end I adapted the hard drive approach and just put some scotchtape over the data platter to make the rest unreadable.
Thanks all.
