- i heard a lot of people had issues with these guys, but i never did.moldero
- mt > down all the timeutopian

i like people that kill elephants and feed humans. It's like taking the time to kill everything you're going to eat yourself. Animals die so humans can eat and wear belts and shoes and coats and sit in fancy furniture and cars
i don't like people who try to tell others what to do with their time/money. seems trite when you read into it.
(mt) gs is not so solid and always updating.
i like www.linode.com for their Django/Python support

MT is horrible. I ran screaming from them about 6 years ago and never looked back.
Both of these hosts are great with great support:

I do like Media Temple. I've been hosting with them for years, and they've been good to me. Helpful, courteous, prompt, and all that. And their control panel and all that is pretty clear and straightforward.
I've had to deal with some other hosting companies to take care of clients' sites. Some of the control panels and documentations I've come across have been really pitiful. On some hosts, it can take ages of looking through documentation to find the simplest information--like the ftp settings and stuff like that. So that's a bother that's nice to avoid.

webfaction.com for low-maintenance and code testing
linode.com for when I feel like being a sysadmin again and/or need more fancy stuff

Linode.

www.webhostingbuzz.com - I have been using them for years and nothing but good things to say. CPanel, lots of free addons. No idea what their prices are now, I'm lucky to have had an account from when they had unlimited storage and bandwidth, and it's only like $60 a year or something.

Heart Internet.
They're UK based, good prices, they do a reseller package with unlimited no of accounts for £30/mo, never had any downtime, respond to support tickets within minutes, always been super-helpful.

Still using MT. Their GS has certainly had problems, particularly with email, but everything else has been more than solid.
Great tech support, easy to understand website and control panels. With the other companies we've tried, it was just such a mess to do simple things it wasted too much time (that, and I've had sites that worked on MT but had errors on other sites that the tech support could not figure out. Or another company was sold to a foreign company and doesn't even have phone tech support anymore).
My biggest gripe about them is the cost.
So, we'll stick with them. Consistency and great support go a long way.

Decent price and never had any problems, quick server:

Good pricing and options, fast service if you have to open a ticket and a good range of free extras. Been with them now, since ... erm ... 2007, thereabouts.

I like your web hosting company.

Whatever you do, don't use 123reg... they are truly horrific. If you dig on google a bit you'll find 98340294802947 reviews of disgruntled customers (like me).
I've used tsohost for the past 2 years, they're helpful and good quality, can't complain so far.
