This look interesting...it's free!
http://wordpress.org/extend/plug…- yeah, it's all controlled via the same framework, so once you get how it works, it's easy, as long as plugin doesn't breakpopfodders

have you seen any stripped down basic versions that you can build from?
- there is that out there, but I can't recall it right nowpopfodders

BTW, most of these themes can easily be altered, once you get the hang of it, there isn't much that you can't do. CSS, header.php, footer.php, body.php, posts.php pages all exist to edit.

To add to Centigrade's contribution with ThemeForest, here are a few decent ones as well: http://www.tripwiremagazine.com/…. The thing is a lot of these theme developers, sell at a variety of places, TF is just user-generated content sales, just like any of the other microstock companies, crowd-sourcing efforts.
- I think this is slick, personally: http://tokokoo.com/p…popfodders

For some reason the WP themes aren't included in that link so here's where you can get some themes. Most of them are extremely well supported (usually better than the eCom platform they are built on). So for $30-$100 you get a great starting point and Premium support with the guy/gal who wrote the theme. Read the reviews before you buy and you can't go wrong.
- yes, I am big proponent of this. I highly recommend and it's not just Paypal that is used as a CC transactorpopfodders

Hosted solution -
Big Cartel & Shopify: these are real easy to use. But for small shops can quickly eat into the small profits you'll be making initally. Shopify is very easy to use and has an excellent backend but little things like having to pay extra just to get use of coupons really annoyed me.For a small shop though like popfodders said you can buy pretty decent well thought out eCom templates for wordpress with all the functionality built in. Which you can customize. Really any solution you go for will have to be customized anyway.

Great stuff I will have a look!
Any more recommends, kindly appreciated : )@ detritus - I have a decent server, so as far as the server side install is not overly complex, it is something I will be able to deal with.
- In terms of WP I know it can do the deal -but arranging/customising a template can be a proper pain!
- Nah, most ThemeForest buys are supported well by the developer.popfodders

Also, I've never had a problem with this plugin either: http://wordpress.org/extend/plug…
It lets you streamline easily into pages.
