August is often the junk season at galleries; as the collectors are on vacation. Stick to Museum's blockbuster shows if you are tight on time.

There's a lot of cool galleries in the Chelsea area. Too many to name. Google it. Usually smaller/great shows there.
I know Dave Kinsey is showing with a group in August. His new work is pretty rad.

...if you get here early enough in August you can still hit the Alexander McQueen show at the Met but lines are up to 2hrs long to get in. You're going to really have to want to go.

Where should I go? What should I see? Was there a few times as a kid and all I did was shop. I've got all the major museums on the list but are there any dope clothing stores or art/designy things off the beaten track?
