I've been wanting to pick this up, not really about the punk scene but written about the punk philosophy by an over educated punk
Graffin is a rare breed, indeed. He is a longtime punk rocker with the group Bad Religion who happens to have a PhD in zoology and is currently teaching evolution at UCLA. With the assistance of cowriter Olson, Graffin attempts to draw parallels between punk rock and various other subjects, including naturalism, evolution, and faith.

Ever tried: Mick Rock? Blood and Glitter? - (I'd bet you have already seen it some of it, but just don't know it yet.)
The 'Fuck You Heros' are cool, when you're 15, pissed off and finger bangin'.
Which is what got me interested in that stuffs'
But maybe try this: Stephen Jesse Bernstein - Prison. He stabbed himself in the neck with a pencil 6x in order to commit suicide: http://www.sendspace.com/file/50… (you're welcome, a freebee!)
Post Beat-Gen. styles: try some: W. Burroughs, K. Kesey, gg allin, Malcolm McLaren, Warhol or Edie...IDK even Malcolm McClarren FFS, what do you mean "PUNK"?!
Before there were guys like G. Miller, J. Stahl...there were Keroac, Ginsberg, (Hell) even Henry Miller and Anaïs Nin! But you're making your request too broad. What do you mean, "Punk Books?".
The 'Fuck You Heros' are the closest I can think of there being a literal translation to the genre you're asking for.

"Fucked Up & Photocopied: Instant Art of the Punk Rock Movement.
Raw, brazen and totally intense, Fucked Up + Photocopied is a collection of frenetic flyers produced for the American punk scene between 1977 and 1985. Many were created by the musicians themselves and demonstrate the emphasis within the punk scene on individuality and the manic urge of its members to create things new.
Images were compiled out of whatever material could be found, often photocopied and, still warm, stapled to the nearest telephone pole to warn the world about next week's gig. One glance and you can sense the fury of live performances by bands such as Black Flag, the Dead Kennedys and The Minutemen, and, through the subtext the reader is exposed to the psyche of a generation of musicians stripped bare: The Germs, J.F.A, NOFX, The Circle Jerks, X, Devo, The Cramps, The Exploited, Screamers, The Avengers, The Dils and more.Fucked Up + Photocopied is the definitive reference book on the North American Punk scene and covers New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, MA, San Jose, CA, Washington, DC, Houston, TX, and Canada's Toronto and Vancouver.
Winner of the Firecracker Alternative Book Award 2000 for Music."
