I keep hearing 2 different pronunciations.

I've been pronouncing Google as "goojle" for the past 5 years. Some of my close friends picked it up.
Correcting people in professional situations is hilarious. They say "google" and I say, "I'm PRETTY SURE it's pronounced Goojle. I should know, I'm in the web industry."

when I got a gig at a web startup full of nervious suits in 1995, the tech staff agreed we'd all pronounce "GIF" with a hard G on the even days of the month and with a soft G on the odd days of the month to confuse the nervous suits as much as possible....

Actually, I recently spoke with Jake Lodwick and I asked this same question, and to my surprise, everyone seems to be mispronouncing this for some strange reason.
The actual way to pronounce it is:
Vee - Meeow (yes, like a horny cat being disturbed by the sound of a camera tape rewinding really fast) and make sure you put a little bit of melody to that "Meeeoowww"
