So I want to import onto my Ipad some movies I have in avi format. Itunes won't let me add these?? Anyone know a way round this? Cheers

i use Emicsoft FLV Converter for Mac. you can convert any file to any format imaginable. great for video.
it is a free download you can find on their site. just google it. and a few seconds later you can have all your movies on your pad.

MPEG Streamclip is great, but I think he wants to know what format should be used. I'd like to know also, because I thought mp4 would work, but it doesn't

I just downloaded AVPlayerHD for iPad. You can upload your AVI files directly to your iPad and it plays the files with no problem.

Same I use CineXPlayer app and VLC for iPad which I dont believe is available anymore. But this way you dont have to go converting all the videos. just put them right on
