Since a lot of people out there are very shortsighted and ignorant talking crap about Flash and constantly taking this stand that goes to extremes (one has to die to be replaced with something else) which is very very unhealthy and counter-productive overall, the video below is talking about something I'm a big supporter of, using tools and technologies that allow you to create fantastic things by utilizing their best features.
The true magic, as shown with Chrome Apps as well, is combining the power of FLash and HTML5 to get some great stuff.
Mike Chambers talks about how to create great stuff by utilizing HTML5 features with Flash which I think will be the best combo of getting beautiful interactive and creative content on the web and even mobile.
I think this is VERY important for people who are looking forward, understand that majority of platforms will in fact support Flash and how you can leverage the best features of both to create great experiences.
If you have 60 mins watch this as it might provide you with some good stuff to think about in your next project or test.
Some of these are local storage, how to create Flash stuff that just works even if offline by combining both HTML5 feature mentioned and Flash and so on.

Flash video without hardware acceleration isn't so good but with it, it's great. Goes to show's Job's was talking out of his ass.

Curiously, Boz, if I were to try and think of a QBN-member personification of extreme polarisation of opinion here on QBN, I'd think of you.

Hey what's shorter, Flash, HTML or HTML + Flash? HTML is only 4 letters, so it's the shortest. HTML + Flash is 9 letters. That's 9 letters you'll have to figure out how to use instead of only 4 or even 5.
Look at Objective - C, it's 9 letters all on its own. It's a lot to know, it's hard, it's an ugly language with a lot of ritual and boilerplate.
Also look at that dude's hair. It's split in half or something. That's what happens when you try to do both Flash and HTML, you're split in half.
- we need a translator over here prontoSteveJobs
- Count the letters dude. H T M L, that's four. F l a s h, that's 5. If you add 4 + 5 it's 9!Pupsipu
- C is one letter and pretty toughjadrian_uk

you know what would be awesome.
if apple purchased adobe.. and then completely discontinued flash all together..then we could stop having these kind of threads..
- autoflavour0
also, you are suggesting i spend 60 minutes watching something, fuck dude, i barely make it thru a Vid of the Day video if its longer than about 40 seconds.. and even then i skip to the middle..
summarise the video for me in 14 words or less.. if you can please.
- that explains your commentsBoz

- Indeed. Where would we be if we let something as silly as facts get in the way of a god argument.ian
- Or good argument. Works either way.ian

I love that 6 months ago you were saying that HTML5 was rubbish utter garbage. Now you think it's magic while paired with flash. Maybe in 6 months (or whatever when Adobe release a pure HTML5 tool) we'll see a thread saying just that HTML5 is fantastic, and that you don't even need flash for some works.
I think we're progressing here.

I just met a woman, about 60, that just gave her iPad away to get a Galaxy because she was tired of not having Flash. I was amazed someone that is 60 even knows what Flash is.
So I pose the question again, will the iPad/Apple kill web design? It seems to be, if Spin's new site is any indication. I still pray Apple updates software with Flash someday, as it is a massive pain to just see websites with half blank pages (no "Apple does not support Flash", just empty).
- did u ask her why?eficks
- that never happened.. did it?
autoflavour - my gf's mother visited last weekend, and yes, it did, indeed happenformed

You have to give Apple/ Jobs some credit, they really did end up "killing off" Flash to an extent. Not that no one uses it, but Adobe is definitely in a defensive position moving forward.

- Yeah, that's the sad truth. Apple is the dictator of this decade, getting worse, iCloud will make it far worse.formed
