Are they really a monopoly though? I can't think of the names but I have played with a few other vector apps out there, including some web-based ones (even some free web-based ones).
That said, I do miss Freehand a lot.
- no they are not a monopoly..there are tons of vector apps out there..it's just sour grapes people.Boz
- those are niche products at best, most of them don't even support cmyk. fh and corel were the only competitionjimbojones
- and corel still exists as well as many other vector apps because CMYK is becoming less relevant.. which all again says..they are not monopoly.Boz
- says..they are not monopoly.Boz
- there's a difference between being an industry standard and monopoly.Boz

Yeah, it would be nice if Adobe had some competition. I can see an app based on Freehand but updated and recoded for 64bit architectures and multi-threading would be great. Freehand was my favourite vector app back in the day.

Monopoly is just standard operating procedure in American capitalism

I don't get it. I thought Adobe owned Freehand now with the acquisition of Macromedia.
- sure, and doing this they are now a monopoly as far as vector apps gojimbojones
