Mixed feelings with this movie, I really really wanted to love it and be a fave but it needs some script rewrites. The action isn't that great (quick camera cuts), ending is somewhat of a disappointment, and left some loose ends (what happened to the family).

Saw it last, shit was super good. The Chemical Brothers killed it too for the sound track. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.

It was a punchy mindless ride w/some exciting camera play, cate blanchett being evil as fuck, a dope soundtrack that made the film seem like a ride sometimes... ... just simple fun for an hour and a half... nothing more...
... yes yes... i know... it lacked a message and anything intellectual... it didn't drop the meaning of life in your lap... it didn't make you feel guilty for ignoring the rest of the world's problems vs. your own... ... it didn't make me feel metro-homo... ... shit... you're right... what was so good about this movie??!!

It reminded me of "Leon the Professional". Had a clever storyline which had me curious where it was going. The Director of Photography had talent, there were some very clever low light shots that looked to be accidental, but on set... that can't be accidental. It's too expensive and production cost is intensive. Also regarding the storyline, it wasn't predictable for me.
I just like when I'm full immersed in a story, and forget that I'm at a theater.
The editing and music was time pretty well too. The action scenes matched the tempo of the film. etc. So there was a lot of work put into that.
And the Casting was pretty good too. Yeah the villan was bleh, but she played the part. And did it well. I would have totally fucked that shit up.
That's pretty much why I liked it.

Managed to catch this over the weekend. The first 10 minutes where great, then it just turn into a shit fest, it was like the film company sacked the original Director and got someone from Eastender to finish off the bloody film.

Really liked it.
And I'll never forget the Devil Is In The Details recurring musical menacing theme. It's up there with Elle Driver's whistling in Kill Bill.
